Protein Ice Cream recipes for summer

This homemade protein ice cream is a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional ice cream. It's packed with protein from the protein powder and provides the indulgent taste of chocolate and bananas. Feel free to experiment with different flavours of protein powder and add your favourite toppings to create your perfect protein-packed frozen treat!

  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and frozen
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk of your choice)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, dark chocolate chips

  1. Place the frozen bananas in a blender or food processor.
  2. Add almond milk, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to the blender.
  3. Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Once the mixture is well blended and creamy, transfer it to a freezer-safe container or loaf pan.
  5. If desired, sprinkle in your choice of optional toppings like crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or dark chocolate chips. Gently fold them into the ice cream mixture.
  6. Cover the container or pan and place it in the freezer for at least 3-4 hours or until the ice cream firms up.
  7. When ready to serve, remove the container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly.
  8. Scoop the protein ice cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!
